If you have ever used the HostChaos LTD IRC support server you may be familiar with our helpful bot called Info_Bot. Info_Bot is an eggdrop bot running custom coded TCL scripts. Info_Bot hosts a variety of features including, a currency converter accurate to the second, a domain availability checker, answer to common questions and much more. There was increasing amount of interest in Info_Bot and numerous people wanting to purchase the scripts. For a while HostChaos LTD senior management contemplated what is the best way to allow people to benefit from Info_Bot and a decision was finally made - Info_Bot was being made open source - scripts are being released free of charge and people are invited to contribute to the development of Info_Bot.
As stated previously Info_Bot has a variety of features but I am not going to list them all here if you want to find out more about the bot feel welcome to ask in #Info_Bot on IRC (irc.hostchaos.com). With contribution from the community we believe Info_Bot can continue growing and becoming a more and more useful bot for hosting companies. Info_Bot scripts have been coded by Dominic, this was the first TCL project Dominic started and therefore the code is far from the best but with contributions from the community we are confident the code will be improved.
If you would like to contribute to the development of Info_Bot you would be more than welcome to an can find out the best way to do this by contacting Dominic on the IRC support server.
